FOCUS ON: Innovative Solutions
Group Project Manager, Mark Rollings talks you through our latest innovation in practical services for our customers, and our hopes for a new recycling future.
Having joined the company mid-way through the year this newsletter seems to have come around extremely quickly. However, that is probably in no small part down to just how busy things have been!
For those that don’t yet know Siteserv launched a sister company this October focusing on incentivising recycling to maximise public and commercial engagement. Sort & Save was thus born out of a realisation that innovative solutions were required to help local council work towards increasingly demanding recycling targets.
The scheme works by awarding points for recyclable products deposited into one of our depots by general public or commercial enterprises. Products are sorted, and washed by the customer prior their visit and they accumulate points based on weight and type of material. These points store under their account on our hi-tech software system before converting into pounds in useful 6-monthly windfalls.
For businesses the scheme is a fantastic way of reducing costly waste management practices, while general public can earn between £100-£200 depending on individual living habits.
We have also teamed up with a number of local charities, community projects and schools to help invest the value from recyclable material towards their fantastic work in your community.
Our customers can now subsequently choose to donate their points to fantastic charities like South Wales children's hospice Ty Hafan.
Our pilot schemes are currently running in the Vale Business Park, Llandow and Glyncoch in the Rhondda Cynon Taf valleys. However we anticipate quick growth into other areas. You can sign-up for a FREE account in-store or online at www.sortandsave.com.
